I took the liberty of reviewing this company, because I had a ‘personal experience’ with it during my search for a company that would help me out with my online business. The full meaning of MOBE is ‘My Online Business Empire’, sounds good right? Sure it is catchy! The owner is Matt Lloyd, a smart looking fellow. I must commend him for establishing such an outstanding online business after reading his journey to online business success.
However, from my experience, I did not make a thorough research about the company before ‘dropping in the towel with them’, i.e registering with them. And this happened at a time when I was so desperate of getting a replacement for my 9 to 5 job that I was just laid off from. You can only imagine what it’s like then.
I came across MOBE in one of my numerous searches, and it appeared to be the perfect company with all the things I wanted to learn about online marketing. I had always wanted to learn about email marketing, how to build my list, how to have my own product, and so on and so forth. So MOBE happened to be the real deal. Plus, with this promise that you ‘must’ have sales in your first month, if you don’t have sales, after going through with the 21 video steps, that he (Matt Lloyed) will personally pay $500 back to you.
With these promises I did my math; if I register with $49 and don’t make a sale I will be giving $500. Though, Matt Lloyd stressed that the only condition to getting the $500 is if you ‘complete the 21 step video tutorial’ which I swore I must complete. And as a matter of fact, I was not exactly hoping to get the $500, but was hoping to start making my own cash. It is better to learn how to fish than to be given a fish!
So, I registered with enthusiasm that I was finally on the ‘real deal’! At the beginning of the 21 step video tutorial, it was fun for me, as I was eager to start an online business that will start earning me money ‘ASAP’. Instead of doing one video tutorial per day, I did two or three, because according to the ‘coach’ that was assigned to me, it was OK to do up to that number of tutorials in a day, but you must finish the 21 video tutorial on or before 21 days of commencement.
Things began to dawn on me as I began going through some of the video tutorials and it appeared that there are up sell of some sort that I must buy before making my ‘first sale’. It was outrageous because, these up sell are in hundreds and thousands of dollars. I said to my self, where the hell am I going to get that kind of money? If I had that kind of money, I may not be here looking for an online business to do!
The up sell were so much that I became dazed and confused by the lists. These are some of their products (up sell) you have to buy.
$1997 – 10,000 Leads in 100 Days
$997 – Online Income Revolution194-+194+
$997 – The 90 Day Challenge
$997 – Six Figure Coaching Secrets
$997 – Add the Nitrous
$4,997 – Diamond Coaching Program ($1,200 commission)
$8,997 – Titanium Mastermind
At this point, I was furious! Why? They should have let everyone know about all these up sell at the beginning, before registration! I sent a mail to their support for a refund, but there was no reply of any sort. I sent a mail to my coach demanding for a refund, he did not reply to the mail either, and this was a person that answered my other emails pertaining to questions in the past. This time, they shut me out, since they realized I had no money, therefore not good for business.
Well, from my article I think my opinion is clear! A company that would not ‘tell you as it is’ is a big SCAM to me, because they are taking advantage of your ignorance to have you register, and perhaps make you pay for some of their up sell. What all these mean is that, they are not transparent.
They ought to have made all these things known to everyone interested and let their prospects know what they are going in for, that way no ‘Surprises! ‘
MOBE ‘MAY BE’ suitable for well established online marketers. If you can afford to pay for all the up sell and stuff, you may go ahead and give it a try. However, for people that are starting from scratch (not having a prior knowledge of online marketing and can’t afford up sell money) I suggest that MOBE is not what they need.
If you are new or an existing online entrepreneur that wants to improve or establish a thriving, genuine, affordable online business, your best bet would be wealthy affiliate. This is a place you have the option of registering for free to have the taste of the ‘pie’ before knowing if you should go premium.
Premium membership is $19 for the first month, that is if you are able to register within the first 7 days. And then, you will be paying $47 for subsequent months, without any up sell. You will have the tools, support and resources that will set you on your journey to online business.
And just for the record, you may decide to remain a free member, but with limited resources.
